“While volunteering with YMSL, I saw how fortunate I was, and I decided I wanted to help and do more. Soccer taught me teamwork and responsibility. You’re on a team, and you have a job to do.”

Questions parents ask

Is it really free?

Yes. There are no fees, no fundraising and nothing to buy. Local sponsors and volunteers cover the snacks, shirts and equipment.

How do I sign up?

Fill out the sign-up form on this page. It takes about two minutes, and one form covers up to three children. Bring the signed permission form to check-in on the first day.

Who are the coaches?

High school soccer players from Austin school and club teams, coaching in small groups. At least two background-checked adults are on the field at every session.

Does my child need experience or gear?

No. Beginners are welcome. Bring a water bottle and wear sneakers or cleats. Shin guards help if you have them. We bring the balls.

Do parents stay?

You are welcome to stay and watch. If you leave, your child goes home only with an adult you list on the form.

What if it rains?

If there is lightning or heavy rain, we cancel by text before 8:00 am that morning.

Does my child have to come all three Saturdays?

Come to as many as you can. Kids get the most out of it when they come back each week.

What happens to my child’s information?

Only the camp’s adult organizers see it. We use it to run the camp safely. We never share it, and we never post a child’s name or photo without your permission.
